We are releasing for sale some important and rare original pieces of the Pier. This is a chance to own unique elements of Brighton’s most beloved and iconic seaside structure.
Items include an exceptional cast-iron serpent lamp column (see above) and rare cast-iron seat backs, both of which lined the perimeter of the original 1866 pier deck and a metal urn that decorated the roof of the 1916 Concert Hall (below).
These are very important items and their rarity and historic value is reflected in the price. The serpent lamp column is priced at £10,000, the seat backs in best condition and the roof urn at £5,000.
The above photos include a seat back bracket. There were two of these per seat back, for those interested in reconstructing a seat.
These items are available because we know they will not be needed for future Trust projects. They are complete pieces which may be slightly damaged but are identifiable and complete.
The decorative fragments are priced from £300.
Some of these items will be available to view at West Pier Centre. Others can be inspected by arrangement.
