West Pier Trust is fundraising to restore and original 1866 kiosk which was rescued from the pier in the 1990s. It was one of six identical kiosks that adorned the pier when it opened. Made of cast iron, it is currently dismantled and in storage. We are about to begin the 'rescue' phase of this exciting project. The material will be transported to a large workshop where a volunteer team led by engineers will examine and assess it.

This work will inform the Trust of its precise condition and enable it to raise the necessary funds for the kiosk's full restoration. Once restored and reinstated it will be the oldest original pier building in the world.

Outside west Pier Centre, the Trust's home on Brighton seafront, is a large space reserved for the reinstatement of the kiosk. This is where it will be reassembled once restored. It will be returned to public use so that everyone can enjoy an exquisite and important element of the original pier.
