A reminder to Trust members that this year’s AGM will be held at 6pm on Thursday 15th November at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. After the formal business, Marks Barfield Associate Director, Ian Crockford, will give a talk, bring members up to date with i360 progress and answer questions from the floor.

There was such a good turn out for the sale last weekend that we’ve decided to hold another 9.30 – 12 noon on Sunday 7th October in the pier compound. Please come if you’d like to own an original, if damaged, piece of the pier. All proceeds go towards the Trust’s heritage and education activities.

In preparation for the start of i360 construction the Trust needs to clear its site. We still have some original West Pier cast iron pieces which are either damaged or surplus to requirements. At its meeting today Brighton & Hove Council’s Policy & Resources Committee voted unanimously to lend Marks Barfield the monies necessary to close the i360 funding gap. At the Council Cabinet meeting on 10th May the proposal was approved that negotiations should be opened for the Council to loan the funding gap for i360.
