Preparation of the West Pier site for the i360 begins today. i360 construction is due to start in June but the root end of the pier, inaccessible to the public for several years now, must be dismantled first. Blacksmith Adam Baillie found a dismantled forge in one of the pier arches when we were holding fragment sales. It was part of the pier’s maintenance unit and probably last used in the 1960s. He’s almost completed its restoration and it will be back in use before long. He’s painted it the green used in ... Read more
